Noble Kava Extract (Piper methysticum)
A South Pacific root traditionally used to unwind, relax, and ease social tension.
Kava (Piper methysticum) has been used for more than 3,000 years across the South Pacific as a ceremonial and social relaxation drink. Modern research points to real anxiolytic and muscle-relaxing effects when standardized noble cultivars are used.
What it is
The active compounds in kava are kavalactones — a family of six molecules that interact with GABA receptors to produce a calm, sociable, body-loose feeling. We use a 30% noble kava extract, standardized to the well-tolerated noble kavalactone profile (never tudei cultivars).
How it works
Kavalactones modulate GABA activity and calcium channels, producing relaxation without meaningful cognitive impairment at typical doses. Effects come on in 15–30 minutes and last one to two hours.
Studied dose
70–250 mg kavalactones per serving
SumCo's dose
100 mg noble kava extract (30% kavalactones) per gummy
